The Orange Unlit Tour 2008

Friday 12th of September 2008

In September 2008 we were very fortunate to participate in the Orange Unlit Tour!

The day had an early start with Hannah (Our choir leader) and two of our singers Peter and Sharon being interviewed on Radio Leicester’s Breakfast Show.

Then later that night singer-songwriter Jont (most famed for his track Sweetheart which appeared on the sound track to hit comedy film Wedding Crashers!) arrived at Hannah's house to perform a mini gig (with the choir providing backing vocals) along side the cream of Leicester's talent - Mike Sole (Piano) & Niam Cortazzi (singer-songwriter).

Sing For Water

Wednesday 7th of May 2008

Leicester's Riverside Festival saw 180 voices coming together to take part in Leicester's first Sing for Water event raising over £1,500 for Water Aid. The singers came from community and church choirs from around Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Melton and Coventry. Around 50 members had never sung in four-part harmony before, so it really was a great first!

Kim Burley Jones, the chair of the organising group said of the day: "I am really proud of the people who took part in this event, we had loads of fun and raised vital funds."
